Today’s common form of organization is the C Corporation which has as its objectives to maximize shareholder value. The key measurement standard that goes along with that is GAAP accounting. B Corporations by contrast have a broader set of objectives that includes positive external impact and employee well-being.

I’ve not yet gotten into the new “reboot” DC Comics introduced last month. This collection would be a great entry point.

Finland has one other significant advantage over the United States. The child-poverty rate in Finland is under 4 percent. Here it is 22 percent and rising. It’s a well-known fact that family income is the most reliable predictor of academic performance. Finland has a strong social welfare system; we don’t. It is not a “Socialist” nation, by the way.
